Kasthall’s Classic rug, designed by the former design director, Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg, was launched in 2011. Seven years later Kasthall is now delighted to present this contemporary classic in nine new colors, from powdery brown, beige and light pink tones to lively pink and turquoise colors. Classic is also being launched in three new patterns, Matris Small, Matris Large and Links.
Black Diamond is hand tufted rug with an abstract expression and clear fashion influences. Kasthalls designer Maja Johansson Starander, sketched and experimented directly on the tufted weave to create the linear pattern in copper and cream on the black base. For the 2018 collection Legacy of Tomorrow, Kasthall has developed new yarn qualities and techniques for weaving and tufting, which are clearly reflected in Katja and Freyja, two rugs from the new collection. Both are tufted using new wool yarn with a unique undulating, felt-like character, giving them a luxurious yet robust look and feel.
For the new 2018 collection Kasthall developed new yarn qualities and novel weaving and tufting techniques. Kasthall’s classic bouclé yarn normally consists of matt wool and shimmering linen. The new Gabrielle rug is woven in a new quality of bouclé linen yarn, which has an airier expression thanks to distinct bouclés, which twist and turn playfully in the rug.
In the 2018 collection, Kasthall has developed new yarn qualities and innovative weaving and tufting techniques. Unique craftsmanship, like embroidery and sketching, has both inspired and been a part of the design process, which is re ected in the new Diamond rug, being launched during the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2018.
Kasthall is launching a new product concept called Harvest during the ICFF design fair in New York. Harvest is a creation of the Kasthall design studio, which saw an opportunity to further the company’s environmental stewardship by making use of leftover spools of yarn from the production process.
Kasthall is now launching the new Chenille family, renewing six of the brand’s most popular patterns and weaving them in luxurious wool and linen chenille yarn. Like the sense of dimension in an oil painting, an exciting contrast is generated by the meeting of shimmering linen and matte wool yarn. The unique yarn is hand-made at the factory in Kinna and then woven into the desired design.
Kasthall’s iconic long-pile Moss rug now has an eagerly awaited sister in the new Ines. Like its sister, Ines is a playful, tufted long-pile rug that combines thick wool yarn with shimmering linen.
