NARROW STRIPE ICON – NEW TAKE ON A CLASSIC WOOL RUG IN EXCITING COLOR COMBINATIONS The creation of the decade’s first rug collection began with a voyage of discovery through the factory in Kinna, Sweden. Long-forgotten yarns, leftover dyes and historical patterns inspired Kasthall Design Studio to create something new. One of the rugs is Narrow Stripe Icon, a woven rug in the finest wool.
COSMOPOLITAN ELEGANCE DEFINES KASTHALL’S NEW HARPER RUG The Harper rug, designed by Ellinor Eliasson, is part of Kasthall’s new collection Colors In Between, which was launched at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2020. Kasthall Design Studio’s collection pays homage to the company’s rich archive of patterns and materials, as preserved in the historic factory in Kinna.
Kasthall will be launching its new collection Colors In Between during the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2020. The collection is inspired by colors and materials found in the nooks and crannies of the factory. Poetry is one of the rugs in the collection, and just like the name of the collection, a lot of Poetry’s allure lies in the transitions of the colors.
The 2020 collection from Kasthall called “Colors in Between” is an exploratory tribute to the captivating encounters that occur when color, shadow and light come together. First out in the collection is Flourish, a hand-tufted wool rug made of residual yarn that brings to mind expansive geometric airfields and the color mosaics of open landscapes.
CLASSIC GRETA IN NEW PLAYFUL TONES Between the years 1987–2015 designer Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg created the majority of Kasthall’s classic rugs, including Greta. This woven wool rug is now being updated in seven new colorways and featured in Kasthall’s 2020 collection Colors in Between.
Kasthall’s Grönska collection, created in a design collaboration with British designer Ilse Crawford, is being updated this autumn with four new colors. Inspired by the Swedish landscape around the Kasthall factory in Kinna, Västergötland, Sweden, Grönska pays homage to the magnificent colors of nature and Kasthall’s craftsmanship.
Kasthall is expanding its design heritage by breathing new life into the classic Fogg rug collection, which is being launched in new colors and shapes this fall. As part of its sustainability work, Kasthall has also developed a related collection of pillows, bringing the Fogg experience to new areas of the home.
The London influence: a city with dramatic buildings, rain shimmering pavements and grand hotel lobbies can be seen in new hand tufted rugs from Kasthall. Designer Maja Johansson, of Kasthall’s design studio, has created Core, Pebble and Pearl, three new collections to be launched at Salone del Mobile 2016 in Milano.
From cool early spring to golden autumn, Gunilla Lagerhem has captured the archipelago’s ever changing landscape in Kasthall’s new design Archipelago 2016. Based on Gunilla’s characteristic design process, where beautiful sketches in water colour are the starting point, Kasthall now presents Archipelago – hand-tufted carpet made with the finest wool and linen with shimmering lurex details.
Kasthall, the global design brand, hires a creative design advisor as the next step in its continued development and internationalization. The choice of creative design advisor fell to famed architect, Ola Rune. H e will advise Kasthall’s design team and guide new collection launches, maintaining the brand’s tradition of on-trend design collaboration.
