WORLD PREMIERE FOR KASTHALL DESIGN COLLABORATION WITH ILSE CRAWFORD
At the Salone del Mobile in Milan last week, Kasthall launched its design collaboration with the British designer Ilse Crawford. LIVIA – A NEW CARPET TAKES THE FLOOR
During Stockholm Design Week 2018 Kasthall is launching Livia, a new mottled wall-to-wall wool carpet. Livia draws inspiration from Nordic nature, and natural colour variations give the carpet a shifting character. This lively addition to the Kasthall range is called Livia.
UNIQUE NEW WOOL YARN BEHIND LATEST KASTHALL ORIGINALS - KATJA AND FREYJA
For the 2018 collection Legacy of Tomorrow, Kasthall has developed new yarn qualities and techniques for weaving and tufting, which are clearly reflected in Katja and Freyja, two rugs from the new collection. Both are tufted using new wool yarn with a unique undulating, felt-like character, giving them a luxurious yet robust look and feel.
GABRIELLE – A DECLARATION OF LOVE TO CRAFTSMANSHIP
For the new 2018 collection Kasthall developed new yarn qualities and novel weaving and tufting techniques. Kasthall’s classic bouclé yarn normally consists of matt wool and shimmering linen. The new Gabrielle rug is woven in a new quality of bouclé linen yarn, which has an airier expression thanks to distinct bouclés, which twist and turn playfully in the rug.
DIAMOND – TOMORROW’S DESIGN LEGACY TODAY
In the 2018 collection, Kasthall has developed new yarn qualities and innovative weaving and tufting techniques. Unique craftsmanship, like embroidery and sketching, has both inspired and been a part of the design process, which is re ected in the new Diamond rug, being launched during the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2018.
KASTHALL RAISES THE BAR ON ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP WITH NEW CONCEPT
Kasthall is launching a new product concept called Harvest during the ICFF design fair in New York. Harvest is a creation of the Kasthall design studio, which saw an opportunity to further the company’s environmental stewardship by making use of leftover spools of yarn from the production process.

For the 2017 collection, Kasthall’s design studio has put particular emphasis on future development with the company’s design legacy as its point of departure. The theme of the 2017 collection is Arrival of Origin and during the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2017 Kasthall will be launching the first rugs of the new collection.
INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE INFLUENCES KASTHALL’S NEW RUG DESIGNS.
The London influence: a city with dramatic buildings, rain shimmering pavements and grand hotel lobbies can be seen in new hand tufted rugs from Kasthall. Designer Maja Johansson, of Kasthall’s design studio, has created Core, Pebble and Pearl, three new collections to be launched at Salone del Mobile 2016 in Milano.
ARCHIPELAGO TAKES INSPIRATION FROM THE SWEDISH SEASONS & NATURE
From cool early spring to golden autumn, Gunilla Lagerhem has captured the archipelago’s ever changing landscape in Kasthall’s new design Archipelago 2016. Based on Gunilla’s characteristic design process, where beautiful sketches in water colour are the starting point, Kasthall now presents Archipelago – hand-tufted carpet made with the finest wool and linen with shimmering lurex details.
KASTHALL ENGAGES ARCHITECT OLA RUNE AS THEIR CREATIVE DESIGN ADVISER
Kasthall, the global design brand, hires a creative design advisor as the next step in its continued development and internationalization. The choice of creative design advisor fell to famed architect, Ola Rune. H e will advise Kasthall’s design team and guide new collection launches, maintaining the brand’s tradition of on-trend design collaboration.
MULTIPLE AWARD-WINNER AND ACCLAIMED HEAD DESIGNER GUNILLA LAGERHEM ULLBERG HAS DIED LEAVING A HUGE VOID
It is with great sadness that Kasthall announce the death of chief designer Gunilla Lagerhem Ullberg following a prolonged battle against cancer. During her 28 active years in the company, Gunilla made a significant design statement both in Sweden and internationally. Despite her severe illness Gunilla worked with Kasthall’s design and figuration to the very end.

This season we welcome the cool and playful Muse as she dances into Kasthall’s woven range, adding a new personality to the assortment. Muse is a treasure from Kasthall’s archive, a rich and vibrant rug which has now been reinterpreted and expanded to create this modern, woven rug.
